This Level 1 Award is ideal for adults looking to begin a meaningful and rewarding career in adult social care. You’ll develop the essential knowledge, values and behaviours required to support individuals safely, respectfully and professionally.

Building on the themes explored in the taster course, this qualification introduces safeguarding, communication, person-centred care and the expectations of care roles. You’ll gain confidence working towards further training or employment in the health and social care sector.

Delivered at Cradley Heath Skills Campus – complete with a home care simulation workshop, this course provides a supportive environment tailored to adults starting their journey in care.

Who is this course for?

Ideal for adults aged 19+ who want to:
• Explore care roles in a structured, supportive environment
• Gain a recognised qualification for future employment
• Understand professional responsibilities in social care
• Progress to Level 2 health and care qualifications
• Build confidence before entering the care sector

• You must be aged 19+
• Fully funded for eligible adults living within the West Midlands Combined Authority
