This Level 1 Caring for Children Certificate is suitable for you if you are considering a career in caring for children. They could also support you with re-engaging with learning and breaking down barriers to entering the childcare workforce.

This course runs Monday 9.30AM-3PM. at Sandwell College.

Course content:

This Level 1 Caring for Children Certificate qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to care for young children. It covers children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development.

Minimum Level 1 Maths and English.

The department puts on a range of activities and trips for learners, with a week put aside each term to focus on your personal development, team skills and experience of the wider world beyond where we live and learn.

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.

On successful completion of this Level 1 Caring for Children Certificate, students can progress to a Level 2 course.
